My Becca is 7!

I can't believe my girl is seven. We had such a great birthday today and I am actually glad I put it in all the effort to give her a great day. I may not be a perfect Mom but I always spoil my family on their birthdays. Of course, I can't remember any one else's b-days. We had a great friend party, which I only do every other year. She wanted a cooking party and so I went to my favorite kid crafty website and organized this fun event. Tom and I made cute chef hats for all the girls last night. Isaac made a cooking utensil scavenger hunt and then all 11 kids came back inside to make pizzas, decorate cupcakes, personalize placemats and make fruit kabobs. It actually went a lot smoother than I thought it would and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Becca loved it. We had a family cake and ice cream party later with Tom and Nana and Papa. It was a full and fun day. My favorite part: When Becca got a serious case of the giggles while we were singing her "Happy Birthday" Please ignore my terrible singing in the video.

Why I love my Becca girl:

She is totally different than me in so many ways and this actually makes my life easier somedays.

She is a problem solver. It is a gift the way this girl can come up with practical solutions. I honestly do not know what I would do without her. She is always helping me out of sticky situations.

She secretly writes song lyrics and poems (which is a little like me).

She has one of the cutest giggles ever. As you saw from the video.

She is already spiritual and is constantly reminding us to read our scriptures.

She is a bright little girl. I never worry about her grasping new concepts in school. She is already reading chapter books and actually practices math for fun.

She is so domestic (so not like me) She wants to cook and sew and is often caught organizing things without being asked. Of course, I wish this little gift extended to her junk piles in her room.

She is a little sassy. But I like people that speak their mind. I just wish she would think before she spoke sometimes.

She is 100 percent girly. Pink and purple, horses and fairies, shopping are all things I get to enjoy with her.

I sure love my Becca. She is everything and nothing I expected in a little girl, which makes her an amazing discovery.

Happy Birthday Becca. I loved the video. The cupcake cake was cute. Your an awesome mom to let all those little girls "cook" in your kitchen.
Oh and great job on the hats. It wouldn't have been the same without them.
