Wordy Wednesday

I meant to do an update yesterday but I have had a busy week. It has been pretty fun though. Actually, I have been waiting for my brother to send me pics of our weekend with him in SLC but I decided that could take forever. So I will just have to post pictureless. I forgot my camera.

Friday we headed to Orem to pick up my brother on the way to pick up my Mom from the airport. My Mom got in early and I missed the last turn off to the airport. Unfortunately, I would not admit I had missed the airport until I saw the airport dissappear behind me. My sweet Mom was waiting forever for me.

Jake then took us to what I refer to as trampoline heaven, at least that is what the look on Isaac's face told me it was when we walked into Jump It in Lindon. There are at least 50 trampolines in this big warehouse building. They are all connected and everybody just jumps from one trampoline to the next. They have a kids' section for the younger kids so they don't get smashed. This is a very good idea because, although this place is a blast, it is a little accident prone. I know this because I hurt myself several times. Maybe a 34 year-old shouldn't try to jump with 30-50 people younger than her but it looked too fun and I needed to get my third day of exercise in. I landed on poor little Lia once because I forgot to take my socks off and went sliding out of control. But my favorite accident was when I tried to bounce off the slanted trampolines against the wall and just slid like a brick into the springs. It was funny people, but it hurt. My brother Jake bounced as high and crazy as the monkey guy in the movie X-Men and Becca and Isaac managed to pull off some good tricks (like bouncing off the wall trampolines with ease.) Lia never ever stopped. All the rest of us (except Jake) had to take breaks. But Lia just jumped and ran and jumped and ran. How do little bodies carry so much energy? It was a really fun hour. We were all exhausted and I was really, really sore the next day, which was good news because clearly I burned some high calorie numbers.
Saturday my Mom and Jake went with all of us to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway. This is really a pretty fun place. Becca was a little cranky and it took her at least an hour before she really started to have fun. Isaac found this magnetized board where he could rearrange PVC pipes into a ball tunnel. He spent at least an hour here. Lia liked the real helicopter complete with helicopter sounds.

We had an early dinner where we met up with my cousin Sarah. I have not seen her since my wedding day. She has a sweet husband and a darling daughter. It was a really fun reunion for me.

We then headed home.
My Mom and I have had a great week so far. Tuesday I was able to go to the St. George temple with her. How sweet it is to sit next to your mother in the temple. She had never been to this temple and she enjoyed being in one of the first LDS temples. Today we had a blast getting pedicures and manicures. My Mom said she doesn't think she has ever had a pedicure and she kept saying how much she loved it. She wanted the full treatment and so we got manicures too.
I was going to post photos of our pretty toes that should be going to the beach instead of into warm winter shoes (It is so cold here) but I'm just not brave enough to show a closeup of my feet no matter how pretty the flowers on our big toes may be.
Tomorrow we are off for a day of shopping in St. George and Friday we intend to visit Parowan gap and have a movie night. I am so glad we got this chance to play.

You are really brave to jump on a trampoline still after three kids! I haven't attempted it since several Mom's shared their nightmare stories of "accidents" from jumping after child birth. Glad you had fun though. Mom's rule! I'm glad you are having such a great time with your Mommy, I am really spoiled and live 15 minutes away from mine- I take it for granted a lot!

I'm glad you didn't get hurt at Jump on it. I've been there many time and every time someone gets hauled off in an ambulence and it's always an adult not a kid. It sounds like your having a good time with your mother. Enjoy the time with her!

Sometimes I feel like I forgot how to let go and have fun when I adopted the name "mommy". I'm glad you let yourself feel the pain in order to enjoy the bounce.

What a fun week you are having! I am so glad you get to have this time with your mom. It is so priceless. I just can't imagine living so far away from my mom so I am glad yours could come to visit. I hope you had fun shopping. We need to go to that place. I love jumping on the trampoline.
