Monday - Write a Little - Word Wise

Because I have an article due today I am seriously only going to post a little tiny post.

This is totally trivial stuff but I thought, word hound that I am, that it was interesting. I also think I may throw one of these into my Write A Little blogs from time to time because I think we should all be familiar with our own language. Here is a word we use all the time that is not an actual word.

IRREGARDLESS: It is a double negative. Regardless is the proper word to use.

I say "irregardless" all the time. Now I have to stop.

And Kudos to who can tell me the difference between "uninterested" and "disinterested."

I have no idea. Uninterested is when you just are not interested? Disinterested is when you thought you liked something and now you don't? Let us know the right answer.

Thank you so much for the gift card! That was so nice and thoughtful of you!

I haven't checked blogs in ages, but when I just clicked on yours, the "IRREGARDLESS" jumped off the screen. I shuddered and thought, "Et tu, Brute?" But then I read what you wrote. Thanks for putting it out there for the rest of the world and for committing to stop participating in one of my pet peeves. Ha ha.
